CFS Foundation Wellbeing Project
The enthusiasm displayed by CFS volunteers to undergo Mental Health First Aid training has been astounding, resulting in the completion of 16 workshops in just under 5 months. The significant positive impact that each participant will make on their brigade, family, and community cannot be overstated. It serves as the catalyst that ignites a powerful transformation.
Jana and Smokey, (the comfort koala) have embarked on extensive journeys across South Australia to ensure that the training reaches as many CFS brigades as possible. To date, Jana has successfully facilitated workshops in 5 out of the 6 CFS regions, and she is now planning road trips that will take her off the beaten track, extending the reach of the training even further.
We appreciate the dedication of those CFS members who have taken time out of their busy schedules to attend the workshops. The soft skills acquired through this training are invaluable and will last a lifetime.
Some feedback from previous trainees:
"This course has been beneficial in enhancing my understanding of mental health issues."
"I am genuinely thankful for the opportunity to attend this course alongside our exceptional instructor and my fellow CFS brigade members. I firmly believe that we are now better equipped to support one another as First Responders."
We congratulate Jana for her commitment to delivering these Mental Health 1st Aid training courses with professionalism and compassion.
