Sporting stars line up to support CFS

Two of South Australia’s retired AFL stars have been announced as new ambassadors for the CFS Foundation.

Former Crows captain Nathan van Berlo and former Port Adelaide captain Dom Cassisi have joined the Foundation as ambassadors alongside local sporting stalwart in Adelaide 36ers championship coach Phil Smyth.

Dom told The Advertiser that it’s an honour to support the CFS Foundation and the state’s brave CFS volunteers. “Those guys put themselves on the line, risk their lives and make enormous sacrifices to keep the community safe, purely out of goodwill,’’ he said. “They deserve as much support as they can get so this foundation is a fantastic way to give something back to them, so we’re delighted to be involved.’’ Nathan encouraged all South Australians to donate to the Foundation. “It’s a great honour to be involved with such a wonderful and proud organisation and I encourage people to donate so we can provide support to CFS volunteers and their families when they most need it,’’ he said.
